You're probably wondering what happened on our last two days in the USVI. We finished up helping Mr. Smith get his coral count and color data, which starting from this year he will collect annually with every BLS trip (we were the first ones - yippee!). Those last two days, though, he told us to work on a small project, be it stars in the sky or fish poop in the ocean. By the time we all gave mini presentations, it was already the last night and we left the next morning right after breakfast. It was super nostalgic on the taxi ride back (when I say taxi I don't mean a yellow cab, I mean an open air truck-like vehicle with no seat belts and open stairways where you can stick your foot out as you fly down the road), and we were all dark, mosquito ridden, and already missing the salty Virgin Island seawater. By now my mosquito bites are just little dots on my appendages, but I still remember the USVI. I'm not gonna forget it anytime soon, either!
P.S. Did anyone mention that when we were landing in Logan, we saw the Fourth of July fireworks going off? It's a really great way to end a trip, you know.
